<div class="edit"> <div class="edit"> Welcome to McCormick Junior High School! I hope that you have had a safe, yet pleasant and enjoyable summer during these trying times. We are excited to be back in school and look forward to starting the year! We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we plan for the safety of our faculty, staff, and students. As compared to years past, we are returning to school under different circumstances. With all the recommended guidelines and changes, we are working hard to establish and sustain a safe and positive learning environment for your student(s).&nbsp; Although our school will have different daily procedures, we want your child’s experience to be as positive and successful as possible. Despite our current circumstances, McCormick’s faculty and staff continue to have high expectations for your students’ academic success. Therefore, we want to support your student with opportunities to learn and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Either in person or virtually, we will have opportunities throughout the year to join clubs, play sports, take part in extra-curricular activities as well as focus on their academics. We want your students’ time spent with us to be a time of growth. To get the year started, an orientation program has been scheduled for all 7th and 8th graders. Due to social distancing and safety procedures, our orientation will be broken into six (6) sessions. Students will be introduced to new COVID-19 procedures, Networks of Support, our Olweus Kickoff along with schedule pick up and school pictures. Each orientation session is assigned by grade level and student last name. To maintain social distancing guidelines, students may bring 1 adult with them. Masks are required and a health screening will be completed upon entrance. Doors will be open thirty minutes before the start of the orientation to allow for screening. If the identified time, does not work for you, please contact the office for alternative orientation options. Our orientation programs will take place on: August 11th – 7th grade: 9am-12pm (Students last name begins with: A-F) August 11th – 7th grade: 1pm – 4pm (Students last name begins with: G-M) August 12th – 7th grade: 9am-12pm (Students last name begins with: N-Z) August 12th – 8th grade: 1pm – 4pm (Students last name begins with: A-G) August 13th – 8th grade: 9am – 12pm (Students last name begins with: H-M) August 13th – 8th grade: 1pm – 4pm (Students last name begins with: N-Z) &nbsp; McCormick Junior High is committed to helping your student have the best year ever.
