McCormick Jr High

Virtual Day Information

If it is determined that LCSD1 will enter a shutdown due to emergency conditions, McCormick’s Emergency Closure Virtual Learning Plan will be implemented to ensure the academic progress of our students.

McCormick Jr. High Emergency Closure Virtual Learning Plan

Students are expected to make reasonable attempts to complete assigned work as posted on each individual teacher’s Canvas page.

Attendance for all classes will be taken at 3:00 pm. Students will be marked present for each class if they have completed the work as posted on the individual teacher’s Canvas page. A student will be marked absent if the work has not been completed.

  • Teachers will be monitoring learning through Canvas and email. Teachers are available and happy to help students who are struggling and/or who have questions.
  • We respect that some families struggle with Wi-Fi connectivity. If students are unable to participate electronically, they will be allowed to make up their work upon returning to in-person instruction.
  • Parents - we ask that you please call McCormick to inform us of an absence due to illness and/or an inability to access virtual learning. Students will be marked excused for either illness or weather.

Please call 307-771-2658 (Attendance line).

Teachers are available to teach/support students through one of the following methods as appropriate to the planned lesson. The preferred method will be communicated through the teacher’s Canvas page.

  • Microsoft Teams Virtual Link ParentSquare App
  • District Email Account
  • Canvas Messenger
  • Appropriate use of technology is still expected in any virtual setting.
